Jubilee Centre Temporary Summer Closure - Mayor Black (R) WHEREAS Jubilee Centre, provides the following critical services to the residents of Ontario; ? Residential Treatment, and Short-term Residential Crisis Support Services (aka Safe-Beds) ? Day Treatment, Evening Treatment, and Ontario Telemedicine Services; and ? CDSSAB funded Transitional Housing Services; and WHEREAS Jubilee Centre is well-known across the Province for providing quality services and supports focused on integrated care for individuals with Concurrent Disorders; and WHEREAS Jubilee Centre has experienced chronic funding shortages in the NE-LHIN funded programs resulting in temporary annual closures of increasing duration, especially the critical 24/7 bedded programs and Day program; and WHEREAS the impact of such temporary closures have been particularly problematic for the residents of the community of Timmins; and WHEREAS no base funding enhancements have been forthcoming from the NE-LHIN; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT The City of Timmins hereby endorses the Jubilee business case put forth to the NE LHIN to enhance base funding with an additional $400K, annually, to prevent further service disruptions and to be consistent with Ontario’s Comprehensive Mental Health and Addictions Strategy which reinforces the need for investment and calls for a multi-sectoral and multi-Ministry response for people requiring addictions and mental health care.
