First and Second Reading of By-Laws Resolution BE IT RESOLVED THAT the following By-Laws be given first and second reading: 2017-7984 being a by-law to enter into a lease agreement with Northern College for the Emergency Services Facility 2017-7986 being a by-law to acquire an easement on 344 Lang Avenue 2016-7798 being a by-law to establish a licensing By-Law 2016-7798 - Licensing By-Law 2017-7984 - Lease Agreement with Northern College re: Emergency Services Facility 2017-7986 - Proposed Easement Agreement respecting City Land 344 Lang Avenue
***DUE TO TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES A PORTION OF THIS MEETING CONTAINS NO AUIDO*** a) Resolution for Exemption of the Truck Route By-Law BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council does hereby approve providing an exemption to the heavy truck traffic section of the traffic by-law for the Drive Test Ontario company to perform Class A and D test on the following streets: Street Name From To Main St Highway 101 E Golden Ave Moore St Highway 101 E Golden Ave Crawford St Highway 101 E Golden Ave Bruce Ave Highway 101 E Crawford St b) Resolution for the Knights of Columbus Toll Booth BE IT RESOLVED THAT COUNCIL does hereby give permission to the Knights of Columbus to have a 'Toll Booth' on Main Street and Bruce Avenue in South Porcupine on May 27, 2017 for Muscular Dystrophy of Canada. AND FURTHER that liability insurance the amount of $5 million dollars be provided naming the City as additional named insured. AND FURTHER that Public Works, Timmins Police Service, Timmins Fire Department and Timmins Transit be notified of this event. c) Stars and Thunder as a Municipally Significant Festival and Event BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council does hereby approve that the Stars and Thunder Festival is a municipally significant event within the City of Timmins.
2017 FCM Membership Fees BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council does hereby approve the 2017 FCM membership fees in the amount of $7,487.59.
Municipal Elections Modernization Act BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council does hereby agree that the City of Timmins maintain the existing first-past-the-post election model for the 2018 municipal election and that the City Clerk be directed to monitor ranked ballot elections in Ontario and report back to Council with a comprehensive report after the 2018 elections.
Third Reading of By-Law 2017-7977 - Waste Management By-Law BE IT RESOLVED THAT BY-LAW 2017-7977 being a by-law to repeal by-law 1986-2575 and Establish a Waste Management By-Law be given third and final reading and be enacted and passed.
Third Reading of By-Law 7984 - Lease Agreement with Northern College re: Emergency Services Facility BE IT RESOLVED THAT BY-LAW 2017-7984 being a by-law to enter into an agreement with Northern College for the Emergency Services Facilities be given third and final reading and be enacted and passed.
Third Reading of By-Law 2017-7985 - Amend User Fee By-Law re: Schedule "N" - Tipping Fees BE IT RESOLVED THAT BY-LAW 2017-7985 being a by-law to amend By-Law 2016-7778 respecting Schedule "N", tipping fees at the Deloro landfill site be given third and final reading and be enacted and passed.
