Resolution of Support for the Town of Latchford re: Tax Exemption for Council BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council does hereby support the resolution from the Town of Latchford respecting tax exemption for Council.
Buy Local - Mayor Black WHEREAS local businesses contribute to the employment, taxation, and often use their profits to give back to the community to improve the quality of life, and WHEREAS in rural areas bids from outside the community often come with none or little of the above benefit, and WHEREAS many regions promote buy local campaigns WHEREAS many new policies are impacting the sustainability of small businesses in rural communities, AND WHEREAS Municipal officials are responsible for making decisions that reflect significant benefit or need in their community BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City of Timmins does hereby request that language preventing Municipal or geographical preference in municipal purchasing be removed from provincial legislation or an exemption for Northern Ontario and Rural Ontario regions be implemented BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT this resolution be forwarded to FONOM, NOLUM, ROMA, AMO, MPP Gilles Bisson, Minister of Municipal Affairs and the Premier of Ontario

Paint the Park Event re: Noise Exemption Request BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council does hereby approve a request by KC Events and Promotions for an exemption to the City of Timmins Noise Bylaw 2006-6339 for their outdoor concert and paint party to be held on July 22, 2017 from 11:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. at the Mountjoy Historical Park.
POA Write Offs BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council does hereby approve the Provincial Offences Act (POA) fine write-offs in the amount of $110,270.16 representing 1198 files.
BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council approve that administration develop a report analyzing the cost implication for providing sufficient water pressure to adequately service fire hydrants on Delnite Road.
