a) Adoption/Receipt of Minutes BE IT RESOLVED THAT the following Minutes of Timmins Council be adopted as presented: Minutes of a Regular meeting held August 8th, 2017. Minutes of a Regular meeting held August 22nd, 2017 b) Correspondence Speed Limit on Ice Chest Lake Road - Mike Hanisch Tourism Timmins - Northeastern Ontario Recreation Association Educational Forum c) First and Second Reading of By-Laws Resolution for First and Second Readings BE IT RESOLVED THAT the following by-laws be given first and second reading:
MOTIONS OF COUNCIL Tax Agreements BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council does hereby authorize administration to execute a memorandum of understanding regarding tax agreements.
Street Closure re: Annual BE IT RESOLVED THAT COUNCIL does hereby approve Take Back the Night March which will take place on September 26th, 2017., as per the attached map. AND FURTHER THAT the Timmins Police Service escort the march along the identified route. AND FURTHER THAT liability insurance in the amount of $5 million dollars be provided naming the City of Timmins as additional named insured. AND FURTHER THAT a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Timmins Police Services , the Fire Department, Parks & Recreation, Timmins Transit and the Public Works Department.Take Back the Night March
Enforcement Services Operations Whereas Council of the Corporation of the City of Timmins accepted a recommendation from the Enforcement Services Department to move to a 40 hour workweek, and Whereas the proposed change will create efficiencies and synergies with the various departments that Enforcement Services Department works with on a regular basis who are also on a 40 hour workweek, and Whereas Council requests a proper cost-benefit analysis be completed on the remaining positions to determine continuance of the 40 hour workweek past the originally approved trial basis of the original contract Enforcement Officer positions, now Be it resolved that the HR department be instructed to proceed with engaging the local in a Memorandum of Understanding in order to facilitate such a move.
