MOTIONS OF COUNCIL Retrouvailles Theriault 2019 BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council declares that the Retrouvailles Theriault 2019 is a municipally significant event with the City of Timmins and; FURTHER THAT an exemption to the City of Timmins Noise By-law 2006-6339 on May 17th and 18th, 2019.
Annual Summerfest Celebrations BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council hereby authorize the closing of the following streets on July 21st and 22nd, 2018 for the Annual Summerfest Celebrations: Bruce Avenue from Moore Street to Main Street and the municipal parking lot adjacent to Jake's Bar and Grill from 6:00 a.m. (Saturday) to 6:00 p.m. (Sunday) AND FURTHER THAT Council provides at no charge two road closed signs and four wooden traffic barricades for the street closures AND FURTHER THAT Council authorizes an extension of A.G.C.O. Licence for Permanent Establishments (Jake's Bar and Grill) in order to accommodate this annual Summerfest Celebration AND FURTHER THAT an exemption to the City of Timmins Noise By-law No. 1983-1998 until 2:00 a.m. be permitted AND FUTHER THAT the organizers provide the Corporation of the City of Timmins with liability insurance in the amount of 5 million dollars and naming the City of Timmins as co-insured for street closure and A.G.C.O. extension. AND FURTHER THAT the organizers be responsible for clean-up on these streets immediately upon completion of the event and prior to the opening of the roads and that a $1,000.00 deposit be made to the City, returnable to the organizers once the clean-up has been completed. AND FURTHER THAT a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Public Works, Timmins Fire Department, Timmins Police Service and Timmins Transit.
The Great Canadian Kayak Challenge and Festival re: Firework launch and street closure BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council approves a request for an exemption to City of Timmins Noise b-law 2006-6339 from 11:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.for the 10 Annual Great Canadian Kayak Challenge & Festival on August 24 and 25th, 2018, at the Mountjoy Historical Conservation Area Park (former Participark) AND FURTHERMORE THAT Council approves holding of a fireworks display on August 25, 2018 to be launched from the north end of the Mountjoy Historical Conservation Area Park (former Participark) at 10:00 p.m. in conjunction with the 10th Annual Great Canadian Kayak Challenge & Festival. AND FURTHER THAT Riverside Drive be closed from Fogg Street to Norman Street from 8:00pm to 10:30 pm to accommodate the fireworks. AND FURTHER THAT a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Timmins Police Service, the Timmins Fire Department, Public Works Department and Timmins Transit.
