Paint in the Park BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council does hereby approve a request by KC Events and Promotions for an exemption to the City of Timmins Noise By-law 2006-6339 for their outdoor concert and paint party to be held on July 14, 2018 from 11p.m. to 2:00 a.m. at the Mountjoy Historical Park. AND FURTHER THAT liability insurance be provided in the amount of $5 million dollars naming the City of Timmins as additional insured.
Touch a Truck Literacy Event BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council supports the Touch a Truck Event in Timmins and supports closing Second Avenue from Spruce Street to Brunette Road on Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. AND FURTHER THAT liability insurance be provided in the amount of $5 million dollars naming the City of Timmins as additional insured. AND FURTHER THAT a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Timmins Fire Department, Timmins Police Service, public Works and Timmins Transit.
City of Timmins Salt Management Plan BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council accepts the City of Timmins Salt Management Plan report.
Farmers Market WHEREAS the closing of the Mountjoy Farmer’s Market has been detrimental to the agriculture and artisan community in Timmins AND WHEREAS the establishment of another weekly market would be of benefit to the City of Timmins AND WHEREAS the farmer’s markets can lead to potential business growth in a community and help small entrepreneurs gain exposure as well as supporting access to local sustainable food options. AND WHEREAS the McIntyre Curling Club is not booked for a large portion of the summer and is a great location and showcase facility to host such an opportunity BE IT RESOLVED THAT council does hereby support a partnership pilot project to establish a weekly Farmer’s and Artisan Market at the McIntyre Curling Club on Saturday’s from 9am to 1pm commencing on June 23rd, 2018. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City of Timmins in this partnership agrees to set up tables and chairs for the event and charge a rental cost for the time of use indicated above of $150/week. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT when the ice goes back in at the arena that the city supports using other community spaces within the McIntyre complex if available to allow the market to continue to run until Thanksgiving weekend.
