Municipal Statement of Recognition for the Centenary of the Canadian Institute of Planners The year 2019 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Canadian Institute of Planners, a national organization whose members contribute to the planning, development and protection of land across the country. The professional planners assist municipalities by helping to ensure that our land and communities are healthy, vibrant and accessible to everyone. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we, the Council of the City of Timmins do hereby recognize the Centenary of the Canadian Institute of Planners and extend our good wishes to its members on that occasion and support their continued contributions to municipal land use planning in the future.

Road Closure for the ceremony for the naming of the Michael "J.J." Doody Centre of Excellence THAT Council does hereby approve the request for road closure of Second Avenue between Spruce Street and Brunette Road on Saturday, May 25th, 2019 from 10:00am until 12:00pm (noon) for the naming of the naming of Michael "J.J." Doody Centre of Excellence. AND FURTHER THAT the City shall provide barricades and signage for the event. AND FURTHER THAT a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Timmins Police Services, the Timmins Fire Department, Public Works Department, Parks and Recreation and Timmins Transit.
