BE IT RESOLVED THAT the following minutes be received: Minutes of the Municipal Advisory Committee Meeting held September 25, 2019 Minutes of the Municipal Accessibility Advisory Committee held August 21, 2019 b) First and Second Reading of By-Laws Resolution BE IT RESOLVED THAT the following by-laws be given first and second reading: 2019-8381 being a by-law to appoint staff to issue and enforce the Site alterations permits for the City of Timmins 2019-8382 being a by-law to enter into an agreement with Spectrum Telecom Group regarding Coverage for Digital Radio Communications 2019-8383 being a by-law to enter into an agreement with Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Ontario as represented by the Attorney General regarding French Language Training Funds for Municipal Courts
MOTIONS OF COUNCIL Corporate and Community Greenhouse Gas and Energy Update BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council approves the Community and Corporate Greenhouse Gas Reduction Targets report.
2020 Connecting Link Funding Application BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council supports Timmins' application to the 2020 Connecting Link Program for a grant request of $3 million.
Connecting Link Utilities BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council approves burying the utilities on the Connecting Link from Fogg Street to Spruce Street.
Joint and Several Liability Consultation BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council supports the letter from the Township of Springwater regarding the Joint and Several Liability Consultation.
Single Use Plastics WHEREAS single use plastics such as plastic straws, cutlery and grocery bags have become a significant issue in our community and across Canada, and: WHEREAS most single use plastics cannot be recycled and end up being disposed as garbage or contribute to blue box contamination at a cost to municipalities, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City of Timmins engage in a phased approach to eliminating single use plastics, starting within our own corporation. With exemptions for such things as medical waste and items needed by people with disabilities.
2019-8381-Appointment of Issuer of Permit for Site Alterations re: David Vallier, James Lefebvre and Crystal Spekking-Percival BE IT RESOLVED THAT BY-LAW 2019-8381 being a by-law to appoint David Vallier, James Lefebvre and Crystal Spekking-Percival as Issuer of Permits and as Municipal Law Enforcement Officers for the purpose of enforcing the site Alteration By-law for the City of Timmins be given third and final reading and be enacted and passed.
2019-8382-Agreement with Spectrum re: Coverage for Digital Radio Communications BE IT RESOLVED THAT BY-LAW 2019-8383 being a by-law to enter into a maintenance contract agreement with Spectrum Telecom Group Ltd to provide coverage for the police technical upgrades equipment, including microwave and Talk Around Channels be given third and final reading and be enacted and passed.
